Looking for Rare Music? [01 Jun 2008|09:00am]
dtang4
Hey guys,
So, I'm posting this to all communities that I think would be interested. If you're looking for rare albums and such, check out this page: http://www.allrespect.com/collection_search.php?biggest
There's a search box on the right side. You can type in a band name or album name that you're looking for.

It's kinda hit or miss, depending on what you're looking for, but I did some searches with very positive results. For instance, if you're a Foo Fighters fan, I found all these albums:
In Your Honor - Owned by 3 members
One by One - Owned by 3 members
The Colour And The Shape - Owned by 2 members
There Is Nothing Left to Lose - Owned by 2 members
Foo Fighters - Owned by 2 members
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace - Owned by 2 members
Skin and Bones - Owned by 2 members
We Will Rock You - Owned by 1 members
U.F.O.O. Ecstasy - Owned by 1 members
Brain Damage - Owned by 1 members
Five Songs and a Cover - Owned by 1 members
Echoes Silence Patience & Grace - Owned by 1 members

Seattle Promter/Venue Needed [23 Jan 2008|10:20am]

robert_from_ap
This feb we are releasing a new CD, and we want to have a CD release party in Hollywood, and Seattle. The Hollywood shows booked, but all my Seattle contacts went out of business. (Its not our fault, I swear!)

Can anyone point me to a good Seattle promoter or Venue?

Also, Steampunk or Gypsy-rock bands who would want to perform...

Rock Music Community Open to Public [24 Nov 2007|07:10pm]
dtang4
I was invited to this rock music community a while back. At the time, the site was by invite only, but it's now open for anyone to sign up. Here's the site: http://www.allrespect.com/

It's pretty cool and let's you find other people who share your same taste in music. You can also get music news and find others going to the same concert shows. You can even add a little form to your LJ page to compare your visitor's taste in music with your own. I got one on my LJ if you wanna see.

Anyway, I'm rambling... just thought I'd share this with the community! Later.

Go to Concerts? [03 Sep 2007|05:54pm]

[ mood | mischievous ]

Yo,
Another update for what is becoming one of my frequented sites, www.AllRespect.com. They recently added a new Concerts feature. The idea is for you to find other concert goers who are attending the same concerts and then share videos, mp3s, photos, etc. from that show.

The feature is not really being used, but I think it's a good idea, so I'm helping spread the word here. Anywhere, there are still some more invites left to join the new music community. Here's the link:
http://www.allrespect.com/invite.php?promo=LJ

Enjoy, folks.

Cool Rock Music Community [12 Aug 2007|06:00pm]

[ mood | thirsty ]

Hey all,
I thought you may be interested in this new site, AllRespect.com.

It's a music community for people to find others with the same taste in music (mostly rock/alternative from what I see). You can also create your Music Compatibility Test to add to your LJ for your visitors to check how similar their taste in music is to yours. Check out mine on my journal.

Anyway, the site is still in beta and by invite only. However, they have a couple promotions going on -- one for LJ users (lucky us, eh?):
http://www.allrespect.com/invite.php?promo=LJ

You can read a bit more about the site (clearer than what I'm explaining) here:
http://www.allrespect.com/about.php

Here's my page if you get bored:

Cheers.

MAN DOWN, MAN DOWN!!! [26 Apr 2008|11:26am]

robert_from_ap
Jean-Paul our current bass player joined us as a "temporary fill in" for just a couple shows. Nearly a year and a half later, it looks like his life is pulling him away from us (his band Civita is going great!).

That leaves us one bass short of a full deck, and we are starting to talk with candidates about this.

We've got
We've got neat stuff coming up, including concerts all over the country, and a tour in Australia, and we are currently writing our new album! Now is a great time to come in...AFTER we've paid our dues (grumble grumble). If your interested, email me: robert@abneypark.com with your name, were you live (or where you'd be living if you go the part), and what you've done musically.

(PS: if you a are a promoter reading this, have no fear!  Jean-Paul is sticking around as long as another year if we need him!)

robert_from_ap

We've been talking with our friends The Last Dance about putting together some west cost shows together. They'd open for us in Hollywood, we open for them in Seattle, etc.

We are looking for west cost Promoters (Seattle, Portland, Etc.) that want to help put together some shows with this line up.  If you are interested promoter, or know anybody who might be, have them write me at: robert at abney park dot com.

Audio Workstation [22 Apr 2007|08:26am]

robert_from_ap
I don't know if anyones interested, but I think I'm going to sell my studio computer. I use my laptop for everything these days out of convieince, and I had a bunch of gear stolen so I could use the money.

The computer is a PC tower, with:
  • 750 megs of ram
  • 4 in 4 out M-audio Delta 44 audio card
  • Video Capture Card
  • DVD (and CD) Burner
  • DVD Drive
  • Dual hard drives
  • and every audio softwere program know to man
(for which I will leave it up to your consceince to uninstall).
  • Dual Monitors: I will also throw in two 17inch  monitors...IF the buyer picks it up, or meets me somewhere. (I won't ship two monitors!)
Here is some of the softeware you will have to uninstall:

  • Project 5 Version 2
  • Sonar 3
  • Cubase
  • Premire Pro
  • After Effects
  • Adobe Photoshop CS2
  • Adode Illustrator CS2
  • A billion plugin synths and effects
I have recorded albums with this, authored DVDs, etc. Its a very capable machine. I'm asking $400 bucks, but I'll split that into two monthly payments if you are a friend.
